About the Author
Denis Perevalov
Denis Perevalov is a scientist at the Krasovsky Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Ekaterinburg, Russia. His main research interests are computer vision and interactive systems. He has been teaching the information processing and algorithms of technical vision courses at the Ural Federal University since 2010. He is also the author of the book Mastering openFrameworks – Creative Coding Demystified, Packt Publishing, 2013.
Igor (Sodazot) Tatarnikov
Igor (Sodazot) Tatarnikov is a video artist, animator, and VJ from Moscow, Russia. He creates media content in various techniques, including animation, stop motion, and generative art. Igor and Denis are cofounders of the visual laboratory Kuflex (2011), which made numerous interactive video installations and audio-visual performances for numerous exhibitions and commercial projects. Kuflex's clients include the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (Moscow), the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center (Moscow), the Moscow International Festival �Circle of light�, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung, and Master Card. Most of these works were made using openFrameworks.

Excellent Understanding of What you would want to get out of OpenFrameworks

This book covers a build up of project work which is closer to a real application of the knowledge. Denis covers a lot of the more sought after techniques in this book. I've read Denis Perevalov's first book Mastering openFramewoks: Creative Coding Demystified and was quickly on my feet with OpenFrameworks. I did a little research and discovered he has taught this subject for several years and his teaching style comes through. I would read openFrameworks Essentials to get the feel of building a full project and read Mastering OpenFrameworks for a walk-thru or reference for what OpenFrameworks can do.

A great book explaining the basics of openFrameworks development

A great book explaining the basics of openFrameworks development. It helped me to get started and pointed in the right directions to find more information that was out of the scope of the book. Building a video synthesizer in easy to follow step-by-step instructions and code examples is a great way to learn of what is possible with openFrameworks. In the end the video synthesizer is build to be used on a variety of devices from Windows Desktop, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Raspberry Pi. Especially the last one was interesting for me because I wanted to build a presentation system running on a Raspberry Pi.

Very helpful in understanding the concepts

i recently started work as an interactive developer working with openframeworks. this book has really helped me a lot in building up my base and giving me a good understanding of the basic functionality of openGL and how things work basically. The code examples are really well written help in clarifying what the text says.
