Encyclopedia Format

I am not Mormon. I am Baptist. But I am a student of religion. And since I am a student, I want to learn from the source rather than about the source. I thought that Mormon Doctrine would be a systematic theology, but the format is more like an encyclopedia. I would appreciate any suggestions for a Mormon systematic theology, thanks. I am rating the book three stars because of the format. As I understand, McConkie is an authoritative source.

I love Mormon Doctrine

I love Mormon Doctrine. Bruce (Elder McConkie) blows my mind with his incredible knowledge of the scriptures and his stern and strict faithfulness and dedication. I have learned so much from reading his conference talks and especially from Mormon Doctrine. This is a must have reference if you are wanting to invest more into your scripture study. It's also fun to compare it to "True to the Faith", which is the Church's official reference book regarding gospel topics. I always enjoy the insights from Mormon Doctrine, even if some of them are a bit overboard.
