You are a limitless being..Believe it

I loved this book. Everyone always talks about positive self talk and how you are programmed to talk to yourself negatively in life. I am one who constantly beats up on myself for stupid things, I found this book to be a very positive force in my life now, and am implementing allot of the ideas in this book. I am a limitless being, believe it and you will see it.

Bev, your story is so beautiful and heartfelt. Your transparency will encourage all of us to take a good look at our own lives and see where need to do a little purification. God has blessed you and you have blessed all the children you have loved. Thank you for sharing your life with us. If I may add, the only missing detail is why the other foster mom couldn't keep Courtney, she was a single mom with a three year old and she couldn't leave work to get to WIC for Courtney's formula and her budget couldn't afford her formula any more. I couldn't bear to see her moved about again and I knew your arms needed a baby so I asked the case worker if I could contact you to keep Courtney at my daycare. I loved her too! “INSOMNIA My Wake-Up Call” is a touching conversion story that immediately encouraged me to take an accounting of my own life. It called to mind Jesus’ warning that we must enter the kingdom like little children. Bev makes it clear that this is how she now relates to God, and her child-like zeal is contagious! She is shouting at the top of her lungs, telling the world that Jesus is RIGHT HERE.
The book also reminds us that God creatively uses any, and often unlikely, means to reach out to us. While most of us will meet God in more subtle ways, Bev’s story demonstrates that sometimes a more overt method is called for.

I would urge anyone, Catholic or non-Catholic to read the book and relive with Bev, the startling and unique experiences that led her to Jesus. You’ll be warmed and inspired by her honestly, enthusiasm and determination to share her story.

This is great for just a quick introduction to the language and if you want to pick up common phrases/sentences. The draw backs are it's not very in depth and the pace is slow (but for good reason; it's to give the listener plenty of time to repeat) and the speakers are very monotone, which can make it seem boring and like it's taking even longer. A way to cope with it is that I sometimes read through the section of the book I'm going to listen to and then listen to the CD later while I do other things, such as exercise, cook, housework, etc. Anyone who is looking for an in depth book that breaks it down piece by peice and explains the nitty gritty of it, this is not for you. However, if you're looking for something quick that will help you pick up common phrases quickly, this is a good choice.

Not for beginners

This is an ok product, but its not really for beginners. There is no pronouciation guide, and its just listen and repeat, but sometimes you cant understand the person speaking. It would be good for a brush up course, but theres too much info you dont need for simple conversation.

I have recently come back in contact with a long time friend from Germany and he speaks fluent German but, I lost the ability once i moved away back to the USA. This guide is allowing me to pick back up on phrases and have conversations with him. My goal is to become fluent just as he is by 2014 if not sooner.!

About the Author

Anthony M. Graziano is Professor Emeritus, Psychology, at the State University of New York, Buffalo. He was Co-Director of the Research Center for Children and Youth and served as the Director of the Clinical Area. Graziano received the B.A. degree from Columbia College and Ph.D. from Purdue University. He completed a clinical internship and a postdoctoral fellowship in child-clinical psychology at the Devereux Foundation. From 1961 to 1968 he developed and operated the first behavioral treatment program in the country for children with autism. Graziano was the first to employ relaxation and systematic desensitization techniques to help teach self-control skills to children with autism. He also served briefly as the Acting Director of the Kennedy Center for children with developmental disabilities. He has been a consultant to agencies in Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania.

Graziano's research and writing has focused on children and families, and has included: child psychopathology; developmental disabilities; the treatment of childhood disorders; children's fears and phobias; behavior modification; parent training; community psychology; child abuse and neglect; family therapy; and cultural history. His most recent research was on the use of corporal punishment in child rearing, and he has been a long-time opponent of corporal punishment. He is editor, co-author, or author of fifteen books, 86 journal articles and presentations at professional meetings, and a dozen op-ed newspaper columns. Dr. Graziano has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Psychological Association, People, Inc., a Western New York agency serving persons with developmental disabilities, and the editorial board of the journal, Behavior Modification. When not playing with his grandchildren, Graziano passionately pursues cooking, tennis, carpentry, masonry, drawing cartoons, and traveling Europe with Sheila, his wife of 50 years.

Michael Raulin is a clinical associate professor at the State University of New York, Buffalo, where he has been a faculty member since 1978. He received his BS and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. At Buffalo, he was the director of the Psychological Services Center--the research and training clinic for the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology--and also headed the Ph.D. clinical psychology program for several years. He founded and directed the department’s Anxiety Disorders Clinic and maintained a small private practice for 20 years. ��Dr. Raulin’s research has always focused on psychopathology, with most of his work on risk factors in schizophrenia. He has published 30 articles or chapters and is author of an abnormal psychology text. He served on the editorial board of the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and the Journal of Abnormal Psychology and reviewed papers for nearly 20 different journals and grant applications for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He has been active in psychological affairs, locally, regionally, and nationally. He was president of the Psychological Association of Western New York, chaired the program committees for the Society for Research in Psychopathology and the Eastern Psychological Association, and was president of the National Association of Directors of Psychology Training Clinics and secretary of Society for Research in Psychopathology. He has an excellent reputation for his teaching, with evaluations that consistently place him among the top instructors at the university. He has won awards for teaching and public service and is listed in Who’s Who in Among Rising Young Americans, Who’s Who Among Health Service Professionals, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Health Care.

Good baseline book for those preparing for a dissertation

As a Ph.D. student that is about to start my dissertation I found this book extremely helpful in wading through the various research and analysis methods. Filled with examples (although principally focused on Psychology), the book has helped me plan my dissertation. A great reference book and in my opinion a must have for those who are about to start their dissertation.

Not what I expected!

I was disappointed with the results after the first recipe I tried! The cake turned out a lot more dense than I expected. I may be doing something wrong since I have a friend who swore by this book but I am now doubtful! Also the process was a lot longer then expected so make sure you have time. I think it would have been more helpful to include images of the process too.
